Israel has landed living creatures on the Moon.
It was April 11 when an Israeli non-profit SpaceIL launched its private mission, Beresheet to the moon. However, the lunar lander faced a major glitch and crashed directly onto the surface of the moon. As a part of the lunar mission, the spacecraft carried along with it SpaceIL’s first lunar library, a DVD-sized archive consisting of about 30 million pages of information, human DNA samples, plant cells, animal cells, and thousands of tardigrades. And apparently, the Beresheet lunar crash might have let loose these “tardigrades” i.e. microscopic water bears in the space.
